Sapor Cafe is located in the vibrant North Loop district of downtown Minneapolis. Founded by Julie Steenerson and Tanya Siebenaler in 2000, the restaurant is known for its global cuisine, boutique wine list, craft beer and signature cocktails.

At the heart of Sapor is its translation from Latin, Taste. For 15 years Chef/Owner Tanya Siebenaler has created a variety of tastes influenced by flavors from all over the world. Owner Julie Steenerson has enhanced this menu with a thoughtful list of craft beer, artisanal wine and hand-crafted cocktails.
How does Project BBQ fit into this globe-trotting mission – it’s a project much like the summer-seasonal cocktail Project G&T which combines the flavors of Bar Manager Toph Heubach’s hand-crafted tonics and tinctures with a varied list of gins distilled around the world.

Project BBQ draws its inspiration from flavors closer to home, found in the flatlands, bayous and coastlines of the US – Chef Noah Miller has teamed with Chef/Owner Tanya in the kitchen to create a “smokehouse” for beef, pork and chicken. While the Sapor menu maintains its commitment to global flavors, Project BBQ offerings focus on a variety of New World meats and accompaniments.
